Ever since Jorge Cham, of P.h.D. Comics, started going on his campus tour, I've tried to get him invited to my alma mater — my bloated, hateful, soul-crushing alma mater — the University of Toronto, but no one from any of the campus organizations ever responded to my emails.

Yesterday I went on the Ph.D. website and saw the announcement: "PhD comes to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto this week!" Great! Either someone read my email or some other U of T student got the word out. I clicked on the announcement to see when and where he'll be speaking. "12:00pm, Koffler Student Services Centre". Arrrrrrgh. Even if I hadn't checked the website 4 hours too late, I was at work at noon. And the only other Canadian date this year was in Ottawa the day before.

Mark my words, Jorge Cham, you'll feel my cold clammy hand shaking yours soon enough. And then I'll probably hand you a copy of Squid & Ink and ask you to sign a Ph.D. book. Cause that's how I roll.
