30/01/07: One of the words will be "dignity"
Posted by: Philip Kolba
We'll be running a regular Squid & Ink comic contest. To participate you'll need to draw a comic that incorporates a bunch of randomly chosen elements — if you've ever done an English fiction assignment this should be familiar. The best comic — as judged by the editors — that incorporates them all will be published in the next issue of Squid & Ink, and the winner will be the first to receive a Squid & Ink pint glass, and other brand new Squid & Ink merchandise.
Beth Bennett, our resident glass blower — because every magazine needs a glass blower — will be making the pint glasses. They will resemble the smiley face glasses she made last year, only with a Squid & Ink design sandblasted onto the glass. (Incidentally, you can email binaryglass@gmail.com to pre-order or get more information about the smiley face pint glasses.)
What I need from you, the readers and/or potential contestants, is a list of words that I will draw from a hat. The words should be:
1. a thing
2. a place
3. a phrase
Email your suggestions to contestwords@squidandink.com. Feel free to suggest more than one word per category.
When we pick the words, in a week, we'll post the contest details on the Squid & Ink website.
